Child Life Specialist I Position, Radiology and Inpatient Units
Full Time: Tuesday through Saturday
The Child Life and Creative Arts Therapy Department at the Kravis Children's Hospital at Mount Sinai is a 20+ person program incorporating a wide range of therapeutic modalities and a strong emphasis on clinical supervision.
Provides comprehensive child life services for inpatient units, radiology,and other areas as needed.
Functions as a key member of the healthcare team, communicating all relevant developmental and psychosocial information to other team members via charting, participation in team meetings, etc. Responds immediately to all formal and informal consults submitted.
Makes all appropriate patient and family referrals for specialty programming.
Participates in planning and implementation of special events and programming.
Provides supervision to volunteers.
Maintains professional development and competency.
Participates in individual and clinical group supervision.
Seeking a self-directed individual with strong organizational and critical thinking skills. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility, creativity, compassion, and a strong ability to collaborate in a positive and effective manner.
Must have completed a child life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist; Child Life Certification or pass certification exam within 6 months of hire.
