The Child Life Manager is responsible and accountable for managing the Child Life, Creative Arts and the Power of Play programs at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. The position requires that you provide leadership to all staff in the Child Life, Creative Arts and the Power of Play departments. And that you oversee day-to-day operations, work on quality improvement and productivity measures, and support a cohesive team environment. This Child Life Manager position is full-time and for day shifts.
Qualifications & Experience:
A Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Child Development, Child and Family Studies, or a closely related field (Required)
Three (3) years' experience as a Child Life Manager/Leader or Child Life Specialist with leadership responsibilities
Child Life Certification (Currently Active)
CPR Cert American Heart Association (CPR AHA)
CPR Cert Red Cross (CPR RC)
The Child Life Program at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital helps infants, children, youth, and families cope with the stress and uncertainty of acute and chronic illness, injury, trauma, disability, loss, and bereavement. Our child life specialists provide evidence-based, developmentally and psychologically appropriate interventions, including therapeutic play, distraction and preparation for procedures, and education to reduce fear, uncertainty, and pain.
