Job Summary
In conjunction with the Playroom Coordinator and other Child Life Staff, schedules play opportunities for pediatric patients, clean toys, cleans playrooms between each patient use, organizes & offers beside activities for patients & and sorts any donations to the child life department.
Job Duties
- Schedules individual play opportunities for pediatric patients. Maintains daily playroom use schedule. Offers to facilitate play for patients during playroom use time. Communicates play session arrangements with patients, caregiver, and staff.
- Cleans playroom between each patient use according to schedule. Wipes all surfaces and cleans all toys between each scheduled patient play session. Documents playroom cleaning according to policy
- Accepts donations & meets with donors. Meet donors at appointed location and time with appropriate resources to accept donation.
- Organizes and stores donations appropriately. After accepting donation, either distribute it or sort and store it in the correct location. Assists volunteers who come to help sort donations for toy shops. Disposes of any used items or items inappropriate for patients.
- Facilitate toy shops.
- Organizes and maintains layout, ensuring proper records are kept, thank you notes are sent.
- Educate and assists volunteers specific to stocking and proper storage of items.
